The History and Heritage of Morreys

Morreys (Holmes Chapel) Ltd is the oldest family owned business in Holmes Chapel village. It was established in the late 1800s and started life as a Drapers shop in the basement of a cottage in the village square.

The business eventually moved upstairs and over the years expanded, as the village grew, to become a two storey department store.





 

Today, after further expansion, the business has moved to larger premises within Holmes Chapel at the Retail Park in Manor Lane.
